Our search for talent was dazzled by the mechanical grooves of Nicola aka The Mechanical Man. A Neapolitan DJ and producer, he joins the Flankup family after his latest releases on Save the Groove and Denied Area. The EP is made up of unique compositions, dirty grooves and acid basslines typical of minimalist electro-funk.

"Samba do Gescal" is the first track of "TwoThousandAndShitty EP" and immediately the legs cannot stand still. The track evokes images of talking through the streets of the Gescal area in the Secondigliano district in Naples, the samba rhythms flowing from the balconies above transform the street into a carnival where girls and boys alike dance to the mechanical notes of a cassette stereo.

Life is not just partying and fun, stress and everyday problems consume us. A breakpoint is needed to restore balance, recharge the batteries and restart. "Fly Away (I Can)" is the journey that each of us seeks to completely break away from the daily routine. At this point there is nothing left to do: close your eyes, imagine, fly.

The strength to continue is back, but something has been circulating in the mind for days, that bass line, that frantic melody that just won’t detach itself from the mind! The only thing to do is to lock yourself in the studio and put together the fragmented puzzle pieces to give new life to this sound. "About that bass" is the final result.
